WILLMAR -- A 21-year-old Atwater man was arrested at 10:23 p.m. Wednesday in Willmar for an outstanding warrant from Kandiyohi County.
BLOMKEST -- Larry Ronald Upton, 41, no address given, was injured when the semi he was driving rolled Tuesday night near Blomkest. The accident happened around 7:14 p.m. at U.S. Highway 71 and Kandiyohi County Road 3. Rescue crews were on the scene until 11:45 p.m.
WILLMAR -- A 74-year-old Willmar man reported an assault after an individual grabbed his hand, which had cuts on it. The incident was reported at 10:09 a.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of Ninth Street Southeast.
WILLMAR -- A lock was broken and a door kicked in sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning at Culligan Water Conditioning, 800 Campbell Ave. N.W. Nothing was reported stolen.
- Alberto Vielma Moreno Jr., 25, of Willmar will serve 60 days in jail for financial card fraud.
The court on Wednesday sentenced Moreno to a year in jail, but 305 days of the sentence was stayed provided he serve 60 days, pay fines and fees of $750, and abide by terms of a two-year probation. He was granted work release.
Moreno had pleaded guilty Feb. 1 to the gross misdemeanor charge. A felony charge of financial card fraud was dismissed in return for the plea.
The complaint charged that Moreno had used another man's identity to open a credit account and charged $744.49 to it. The charges were made at a Willmar business at which Moreno had previously worked. The man whose identity was used had previously obtained a loan with Moreno. The defendant used the information to open the account.
