- Eloy Carranza, 25, of Willmar, pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of failing to report changes of information required by a predatory offender.
As part of a plea agreement, another predatory offender charge will be dismissed, he will receive a downward departure and a stay of execution on his sentence. He will be sentenced April 13.
The charges were filed after June 19 a Willmar police officer began to verify Carranza's predatory offender registration. He was required to register for life because he was convicted in Chippewa County in 2002 for second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Officers made numerous attempts to contact him in person and by phone. A detective later learned that he no longer lived at the address police had and officials at Jennie-O Turkey Store confirmed that he no longer worked for the company. He had made no attempt to register his new address as required.
