Law officers bust party in Dovre Township, arrest host for violating host ordinance
WILLMAR -- Kandiyohi County Sheriff's deputies cited more than 25 people for underage consumption after busting a house party around 11 p.m. Saturday evening at a Dovre Township home.
According to a news release from Sgt. Matthew Akerson, deputies responded to the home, along the 7500 block of 12th Street Northwest, on a report of an underage party. They observed a large number of people at the party, along with a large amount of alcoholic beverages, but no one answered the door when they knocked.
The home was secured until a search warrant was drafted and served on the residence. More than 50 people were in the home, with more than 25 cited for underage consumption. The party host, daughter of the homeowner, was arrested for the county social host ordinance.
Officers from the Willmar Police Department assisted the sheriff's office during the incident.
Montevideo man hurt in early Sunday morning rollover
MONTEVIDEO -- A 32-year-old Montevideo man was treated and released at the Montevideo hospital for injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover crash around 2:30 a.m. Sunday southeast of Montevideo.
According to the State Patrol, Luis D. Rodriguez was driving a 2001 Chevy Impala along U.S. Highway 212/County Road 42 when the vehicle left the roadway, vaulted over an intersection and then rolled. Alcohol was detected in his system.
Driver in Lake Lillian crash in critical condition
WILLMAR -- Zachary Sulflow, 24, of Lake Lillian, is in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash around 6:15 p.m. Friday evening near Lake Lillian.
According to the State Patrol, Sulflow was westbound on State Highway 7 and attempted to make a left turn onto County Road 8 when the 1998 Chevy Blazer he was driving was struck by an oncoming 1998 Dodge Durango. The driver of the Dodge, Cameron J. Anderson, 25, of Clarkfield and passengers, Wade McDougal, 27, of Clarkfield, and Cheyenne Anderson, were treated and released at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. The State Patrol reports that Sulflow was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol was detected in his system. The Andersons and McDougal were wearing their seat belts.
Teen cited after rollover crash
PRIAM -- A 17-year-old Spicer boy was cited for underage drinking and driving after a one-vehicle rollover crash reported around 1 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of County Road 1 and 60th Avenue Southwest.
WILLMAR -- The Willmar Fire Department was called around 8:30 a.m. Sunday to the Lakeland Hotel, 307 Fourth St. S.W. Firefighters discovered burnt food was the cause for the call and ventilated the building.
WILLMAR -- A 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora, which had previously been reported stolen, was recovered around 9:20 a.m. Sunday at the Kandiyohi County Fairgrounds, 901 Seventh St. N.W.
SPICER -- A 26-year-old man from Golden Valley was arrested for property damage and disorderly conduct around 1:15 a.m. Sunday at O'Neils Bar, 152 Lake Ave. N., after he allegedly broke a railing by kicking it.
WILLMAR -- A smashed windshield on a vehicle was reported around 9:15 a.m. Saturday along the 1400 block of Lakeland Drive Northeast.
WILLMAR -- A case of property damage and domestic assault was reported around 3:15 p.m. Friday along the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southwest.
WILLMAR -- A man reported he was assaulted around 1 a.m. Sunday along the 900 block of Seventh Street Southwest but later refused to speak with officers.
