Semi rolls, driver hurt

in Yellow Medicine County


GRANITE FALLS — A 28-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he lost control of the 1995 semi-truck he was driving and it rolled over on Minnesota Highway 67 in Yellow Medicine County at 1:50 p.m. on Thursday.

Derek Stoks, of Canby, was eastbound on the highway when he lost control, the load shifted and it tipped over, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

He was treated at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital.

Vehicles broken into, items stolen

WILLMAR — The owners of five vehicles reported Thursday morning that their vehicles had been entered or broken into, and items stolen. The incidents occurred to vehicles on the 900 block of Becker Avenue Southeast, the 700 and 1100 blocks of Irene Avenue Southeast, the 900 block of 12th Street Southeast, and the 1000 block of Becker Avenue Southeast.

Headphones, wallets, cash, identification papers and cigarettes were among the items stolen.

Burglary to shed

NEW LONDON — Fishing gear, hunting equipment, BB guns and other items were taken in a burglary reported Thursday from a shed on the 24000 block of Kandiyohi County Road 5.

Juvenile shoplifters

apparently sent by parents

WILLMAR — Three juvenile females were detained at the Wal-Mart loss prevention office for shoplifting at 11:38 p.m. Wednesday. The juveniles were crying and told police their parents were waiting outside in a car. They had been sent into the store to steal specific items by their parents, they told the officer.

The children were released to their mother, who was cited and issued a trespass notice from the business.

Just over an hour earlier, two adult females, ages 25 and 27, were arrested at the store for shoplifting.
