WILLMAR — Daniel Timothy O’Connor pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of receiving stolen property.
The criminal complaint states that he brought a Bobcat skid-loader for repairs to the Farm-Rite Equipment in Willmar on October 28, 2013.
Workers there checked the machine’s identity number in a computer database and learned it had been reported as stolen.
The complaint alleges that O’Connor subsequently told an investigator that he had purchased the machine for $6,500 about one and one-half to two years earlier.
About six to eight months after purchasing it, the man who had sold it to him called and told him it was stolen.
O’Connor told the investigator he kept quiet about the report and continued to use the machine, according to the allegations.
The machine had a $15,200 value when the actual owner reported the theft, court documents state.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 23.
