Theft

NEW LONDON -- The theft of tools was reported around 11:30 a.m. Monday from the 6200 block of 193rd Avenue. The caller indicated a Craftsman tool chest was stolen with an unknown assortment of tools inside. The value of the tool chest and tools is up to $3,000.

WILLMAR -- Employee theft was reported around 11:45 a.m. Monday from Herberger's, 1605 First St. S. According to the incident report, $1,800 was allegedly stolen from the department store by an employee. A female employee is suspected of the crime.

WILLMAR -- Theft was reported around 1:15 p.m. Monday from the 3400 block of County Road 15 Southwest. The caller indicated a box of lights and Craftsman tools were stolen from the bed of a pickup.

SPICER -- Theft of gas and a marine battery was reported around 4 p.m. Monday from the 200 block of Lake Avenue South. According to the incident report, a pontoon's gas tank was emptied and its battery stolen while the pontoon was in storage. The theft happened sometime within the last three weeks.

Property damage

WILLMAR -- A vandalized dryer was reported around 11:30 a.m. Monday from an apartment complex on the 400 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast. The caller indicated the vandalized dryer had $15 in coins taken out of it.

Fraud

WILLMAR -- Credit card fraud was reported around 5:30 p.m. Monday from the 1000 block of 12th Street Southeast. The caller indicated that two fraudulent charges were made to his credit card. The charges, made in New York, were for $684 at a Wal-Mart and another at Luk Oil.

Assault

WILLMAR -- Assault was reported around 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Kandiyohi County Jail, 2201 23rd St. N.E. According to the incident report, a male inmate from Minneapolis allegedly assaulted another inmate. The suspect will be arraigned for fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Accidents

WILLMAR -- A 53-year-old New London woman required medical treatment after a motor vehicle accident was reported around 9:45 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Lakeland Drive Southeast and U.S. Highway 12.

Mary Laib received treatment at Rice Memorial Hospital after her 2003 Chevy Impala was struck by a 1999 Oldsmobile at the intersection.

According to the accident report, Laib was driving north on Lakeland Drive with a green light at the intersection when the Oldsmobilie, driven by Mahad A. Hussein, couldn't stop at the intersection when the light turned red and collided with the passenger side of the Impala.

No additional injuries were reported.

WILLMAR -- A 17-year-old Willmar girl was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital after a motor vehicle accident on Gorton Avenue near the First Street bridge was reported around 6 p.m. Monday.

Danielle Barrett was transported to the hospital with head and neck injuries after she lost control of her 1996 Ford, drove it off Gorton Avenue and hit a tree. Barrett's passenger was uninjured.
