Drunk driver ends up in Willmar yard
WILLMAR — A 24-year-old Willmar man was arrested Friday night for driving while impaired after his vehicle ended up in the yard of a Willmar home.
The accident was reported at 5:39 p.m. in the 1300 block of Becker Avenue Southeast when the resident called police to say a vehicle was in his yard.
The suspect was cited for fourth-degree DWI and for not having a valid driver’s license.
BLOMKEST — A two-vehicle accident Friday night at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and state Highway 7 — an area known locally as Harry’s Corner — injured an elderly woman from Olivia.
According to the State Patrol, Marjorie Fesenmaier, 83, of Olivia was injured when the vehicle she was driving rear-ended another vehicle and then overturned and came to a rest on its roof.
She was taken to RC Hospital in Olivia where she was treated for injuries and released.
The second vehicle was driven by Timothy Liebl, 26, of Moorhead. He and his passenger, Jessica Liebl, 24, of Moorhead, were not injured.
Both vehicles were going south on Highway 71 at the time of the accident, which was reported around 5:15 p.m.
The State Patrol reports that Liebl was stopped at a red light and had begun driving after the light turned green when his vehicle was rear-ended by Fesenmaier.
All three individuals were wearing seat belts, according to the State Patrol.
ATWATER — A Grove City woman was injured Saturday afternoon in a snowmobile accident. According to a preliminary report with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Tammy Jo Knudson, 36, was injured in the incident, which was reported at 1:49 p.m. No other information was available.
SPICER — A large flat-screen TV and a computer valued at $5,000 was reported stolen at 8 a.m. Saturday from Remax realty business, 155 Access Drive in Spicer.
WILLMAR — A 34-year-old Benson man was arrested for shoplifting Saturday afternoon at Runnings Farm and Fleet in Willmar. The suspect was also cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
WILLMAR — A 41-year-old man from Milan was cited for shoplifting Saturday at Cash Wise Foods. The incident was reported at 1:20 p.m.
