WILLMAR -- A driver and her passenger escaped injury but the front of the Godfather's business on the 1400 block of South First Street was damaged when a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier struck it.
The 88-year-old driver is believed to have accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake when the accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday. The collision broke the front window of the building but caused only minor damage to the car.
SPICER -- A 1995 Polaris Indy 500 Snowmobile was reported stolen by its owner from a property on the 14000 block of Minnesota Highway 23 Northeast on Sunday.
WILLMAR -- A purse holding $140 in cash, personal identification, a checkbook and credit cards were stolen from an unlocked vehicle while parked at the Civic Center in Willmar, its owner told police on Sunday morning.
WILLMAR -- A car was stolen but recovered by its owner on Saturday. The 1992 Chevrolet Lumina was discovered missing by its owner early Saturday morning from the parking lot at Fairview Apartments on the 1200 block of Northwest 24th Street. He discovered it later in a spare parking lot between the Fairview Apartments and Evergreen Ridge. A Vexilar fish locater was missing from it.
WILLMAR -- A resident reported Sunday morning that two televisions and 18 CDs were taken from her mobile home on the 400 block of Northwest 30th Street while she was gone.
WILLMAR -- A 28-year-old man is facing charges for domestic assault and terroristic threats after police responded to a report at a residence on the 800 block of Southwest Fourth Street at 3 a.m. on Saturday.
ATWATER -- A 22-year-old Atwater man was charged with disorderly conduct after law officers responded to the second report involving a disturbance and verbal argument on Sunday. The man was initially reported in a verbal, domestic argument at 1:27 a.m. He told officers responding to a complaint that he was headed to another person's residence. At 2:20 a.m. officers were alerted that he was in a verbal argument at the second location.
Man dies at motel
WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County coroner was summoned when it was discovered that a man staying in a local motel had died. The incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The operator of the Viking Motel on North Business Highway 71 reported that he had not seen a client for a day. When he went to check on him he received no response but could see the body of the man on a bed.
WILLMAR --A bicyclist reported some pain in his hips but refused medical help after he was hit by a vehicle while both were making a turn just after 1 p.m. Sunday. The accident occurred at the intersection of Southwest Fifth Street and Willmar Avenue. The bicyclist reported that he and the vehicle were turning left when the silver colored Chevrolet mini-van struck him. He said a man and woman believed to be in their 70's were in the van.
