District Court

Kandiyohi County

* A criminal sexual conduct charge against Steven Todd Huston, 18, of Willmar, was dismissed by the prosecutor.

The dismissal, filed Dec. 26, notes that "in the interest of justice based on the victim re-interview ... the state dismisses the above referenced matter." No reason for the dismissal is included, but information in the court file from Huston's defense attorney includes interviews with individuals who said they were fishing or hanging out with Huston on the days when the alleged sexual conduct was to have happened.

The then-15-year-old girl reported to the high school resource officer in October that she had sex with Huston on several dates in the summer.
