PENNOCK -- A caller who declined to identify himself told Kandiyohi County Sheriff's officers that there was an "overwhelming smell of marijuana'' coming from the Post Office building in Pennock on Friday afternoon.
An investigation found that the reported odor was actually produced by bait used for trapping skunks. The Post Office ships products for Minnesota Trapline Products of Pennock.
Fireworks damage building
SPICER -- Law officers are investigating a case of vandalism reported Saturday evening to a business in Spicer. The siding on the building on the 100 block of Minnesota Highway 23 was damaged by fireworks. The fireworks had been ignited alongside the building, burning a portion of siding and causing concern by its owner that the vandalism could have started the structure on fire.
Green Lake party noise stopped
SPICER -- Kandiyohi County Sheriff's water patrol officers issued warnings to a group of party boats anchored off Lone Tree on Green Lake at 4:37 p.m. on Friday. A complaint had been made about the loud music coming from the boats.
Fight amongst campers
KANDIYOHI -- A woman refused medical care or to press charges after she was apparently struck by another camper and lost her glasses while at Kandiyohi County Park 3 at 1 a.m. on Saturday.
A group of campers in their 20s had been drinking and an altercation apparently broke out among them. No one would pursue charges.
