Kandiyohi County

* Paul Avery Leal, 18, of Willmar, received a juvenile sentence Tuesday of six months of probation and 40 hours of community service on a felony charge of receiving stolen property for a stolen gun found during a search of a Regency West home.

As part of a plea agreement, two petty misdemeanor charges were dismissed.

Felony charges against 16- and 17-year-olds are public record.

Leal, Luis Ariel Hernandez, 31, and Cristian Vergana-Arellano, 19, of Willmar, were charged in the case. Vergana-Arrellano pleaded guilty to a felony charge of receiving stolen property and will be sentenced June 14. Hernandez has a settlement conference on Aug. 5.

The charges were filed after Jan. 22, when CEE-VI Drug Task Force agents served a search warrant at the Willmar trailer park.

According to the complaints against the adults, two guns, including a Remington 870 Express 20-gauge shotgun and a Marlin Model 200 single-shot shotgun were located in the home. The Remington shotgun was identified as one of the items taken in a Jan. 11 burglary reported in the county.

Officers also located knives and rings, which were also discovered to be stolen property, along with drug paraphernalia and 26 grams of marijuana, a stolen iPhone, marijuana growing equipment and shotgun shells in the house.
