Driver cited after crashing
into WPD squad car
WILLMAR — A 25-year-old Willmar man was cited for violating an instruction permit and for failure to stop for a stop sign after the vehicle he was driving struck a Willmar Police Department squad car around 7:20 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Trott Avenue and Fourth Street Southwest.
According to the crash report by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Abdulghani Mohammed Moallem was driving a 2001 Chrysler van northbound on Fourth Street and collided with a 2013 Chevy Impala squad car that was driven westbound on Trott Avenue by Officer Sam Neubauer. The officer was responding to a medical call at the time of the crash.No injuries were reported.
