Car nearly hits woman

WILLMAR — Police were unable to locate a vehicle reportedly driving erratically and nearly running over a person Saturday near the intersection of Augusta Avenue and Second Street Southeast.

A woman told police she had nearly been struck by the vehicle, which ended up in a neighboring yard but then drove northbound on Second Street.

Animal cruelty

WILLMAR — A small cat or kitten was taken to the Humane Society after a citizen saw it being tossed from a car.

The witness told Willmar police that a passenger in an older model, red and silver pickup tossed the animal out of the vehicle Friday afternoon while driving in an alley on the 1300 block of Lakeland Drive in Willmar.

Police also responded to a report Friday afternoon by a resident on the 1200 block of 28th Street Northwest that she suspected two dogs had been poisoned.

Bullet hole in church

PENNOCK — A bullet hole was discovered Sunday morning in the north side of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Pennock.
