Willmar police arrest holdup suspect
WILLMAR -- Willmar Police are holding a suspect in connection with an armed robbery Monday night at a business located in the 800 block of Litchfield Avenue Southwest.
Police arrested Miguel Gregorio Camarillo, 33, Willmar, after officers were dispatched at 9:12 p.m. to a holdup alarm at the business. The clerk told officers that the suspect had a knife and that he ordered the clerk to go into the backroom while the suspect took the money.
The clerk and the suspect struggled over the knife. Both parties received minor injuries. The suspect was arrested approximately 8 minutes later about two blocks away.
Camarillo is in the Kandiyohi County Jail on charges of first-degree aggravated robbery and second-degree assault and is awaiting a court appearance, the police department said.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office assisted in the arrest.
Burglary
WILLMAR -- A burglary was reported around 11:30 a.m. Monday along the 600 block of Fourth Street Southeast.
Theft
WILLMAR -- The theft of a woman's coat was reported around 5:25 p.m. Monday at the Assemblies of God Church, 3821 Abbott Dr. S.E.
Property damage
WILLMAR -- A damaged window and playground equipment was reported around 12:40 p.m. Monday at First Steps Daycare, 1112 Lake Ave. N.W.
WILLMAR -- An inmate who broke a sprinkler head was reported around 3:15 p.m. Monday at the county jail, 2201 23rd St. N.E. The 20-year-old man faces charges of criminal damage to property and tampering with a fire alarm.
Party calls
WILLMAR -- Eleven people were cited for underage consumption around 11:45 p.m. Friday along the 300 block of 11th Street Northwest.
Fire call
SPICER -- The Spicer Fire Department was paged to a cut gas line around 3:25 p.m. Monday along the 4200 block of 114th Avenue Northeast. The department remained on scene for about one hour.
