This is the records summary for Oct. 17. Spicer man injured in crash near Hutchinson HUTCHINSON — Two people, including a man from Spicer, were injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash near Hutchinson.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Stephen Ostlund, 56, of Spicer, and Caitlin Enright, 23, of Duluth, were injured when their vehicles collided around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in a broadside-type accident at the intersection of State Highways 7 and 22.
Ostlund was driving a 2000 Buick westbound on Highway 7 and Enright was driving a 1998 Volkswagen Beetle eastbound on Highway 7 in when Enright attempted to turn north onto Highway 22, causing the vehicles to collide.
Both drivers were transported to the Hutchinson hospital by Allina Ambulance for treatment of injuries described in the State Patrol report as non-life-threatening.
The McLeod County and Meeker County sheriff’s offices and Hutchinson Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Police seek info in Wal-Mart theft WILLMAR — Willmar police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a person involved in a theft reported around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday at Wal-Mart, 700 19th Ave. S.E.
The images have been posted on the Willmar Police Department’s Facebook page. The suspect is believed to be a white male driving a black Mazda Protege missing a driver’s side window that may have been covered in plastic. The partial plate number could start with SDD6.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department at 320-235-2244, reference case number 13014594 and ask for investigating Officer Josh Helgeson.
Theft SPICER — The theft of a firearm was reported around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday along the 10000 block of North Shore Drive.
Property damage WILLMAR — A case of property damage was reported around 9:35 p.m. Tuesday along the 1000 block of Gorton Avenue Northwest. Someone had attempted to pry open the door of a residence.
WILLMAR — Flat tires on a vehicle were reported around 8:10 a.m. Wednesday along the 400 block of Fifth Street Southwest.
Arrest PENNOCK — A 38-year-old man was arrested on charges of domestic assault around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday along Hidden Acres Drive Northwest.
SPICER — A 42-year-old man was arrested on charges of driving while impaired, obstruction of the legal process and hit-and-run around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday along Lake Avenue North.
