* Michael John Bontjes, 22, of Spicer, was sentenced to five years of probation and a $1,000 fine on a third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge for having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
Bontjes was also ordered to complete a psychological-sexual evaluation and follow the recommendations, have no contact with the girl or her family, have no unsupervised contact with children or unrelated minor females and to continue his counseling with Woodland Centers.
He received a stay of adjudication. Under the stay, no conviction will appear on his record if he complies with the conditions of probation.
The charge was filed after the now 16-year-old told a Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s detective in March that she had multiple sexual encounters with Bontjes from June 2010 to June 2011 at a home in Willmar. She said that he knew she was 14 years old when they began their relationship.
Bontjes was interviewed and confirmed the sexual relationship with the girl. He is 5 years, 10 months and 14 days older than the girl.
