RECYCLING IN RENVILLE COUNTY
Willmar Minnesota 2208 Trott Ave. SW / P.O. Box 839 56201

Renville County Ag Inspector Larry Zupke hurls an empty farm chemical container into a semi-trailer as Andreas Geist, right, prepares to throw in a couple more. Along with Turner Padrnos, not pictured, they emptied a large cart full of empty pesticide/herbicide containers at the Olivia airport where they were stockpiled by an aerial spraying business. Zupke said the county-wide agricultural container collection program is about 20 years old and each growing season fills four 50-foot trailers. The recyclables are trucked to the Redwood County landfill which has a buyer. Also, under a joint agreement, outdated and unused farm chemical products are collected at the Renville County landfill and then hauled to the Kandiyohi County Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Willmar, Zupke said.
