Red River reaches major flood stage in Fargo-Moorhead

FARGO - The Red River at Fargo-Moorhead hit major flood stage overnight and is still forecast to reach 39.5 feet by Sunday evening.

The river stood at 29.96 feet at midnight Tuesday and rose to 30.07 feet by 12:30 a.m. today. Major flood stage is 30 feet.

The river was at 30.93 feet as of 6:15 a.m.

This year's flood marks an unprecedented third consecutive year in which the Red has topped major flood stage in Fargo and Moorhead.
