Redwood Falls airport to receive stimulus funds

REDWOOD FALLS -- Federal stimulus monies will help Redwood Falls rehabilitate its airport runway.

Governor Tim Pawlenty announced Wednesday that the Redwood Falls airport was among nine located outside of the Twin Cities metropolitan area slated to receive federal stimulus funding. Redwood Falls is expected to receive $1.4 million, according to the governor's office.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation anticipates it will receive $20 million to $25 million of $1.1 billion of ARRA funds designated for airport facility improvements and equipment nationwide.
