Redwood Falls man hurt in cycle crash

WILLMAR -- A Redwood Falls man was airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital after a two-vehicle crash around 5 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of County Roads 5 and 15 on the southwest edge of Willmar.

According to the crash report, Richard Weltsch, 53, was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson Roadking that struck the rear end of a 1995 Dodge Neon that was stopped on County Road 5 and waiting to turn at the stop sign. The driver of the Neon, Tony Ullao, 36, of Willmar, was not hurt.

Weltsch and the cycle came to rest in the ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection.

He was taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital and was airlifted from there, but no hospital was mentioned in the crash report. He sustained a serious leg injury and was not wearing a helmet.
