Redwood stymies Litchfield

REDWOOD FALLS -- Redwood Valley held off a second-half Litchfeld rally to win the non-conference boys basketball contest 54-47 Tuesday.

The Cardinals jumped to a 30-18 halftime lead, despite an off shooting night by Mike Felt, the area's scoring leader.

The Dragons, who lost their fifth straight after starting the season 2-0, got as close as seven points in the second half after trailing by 15, helped by three 3-pointers from Dominic Devine, including two straight with less than five minutes left. He led all scorers with 19 points.

Felt, who was averaging 32 points-per-game in six contests, was held to 14 points, but grabbed 11 rebounds. Brian Kohler added 12 points and Sam Knudsen had 11.

Jake Hannes tallied 12 points and Steve Hendrickson had 11 for Litchfield.
