BENSON -- Regena Helen Maher, 98, of Benson, died Thursday at Meadow Lane Healthcare Center in Benson.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. Burial will be in the Visitation Catholic Church Cemetery in Danvers.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a 3 p.m. rosary and a 4:30 p.m. parish prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are by Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.

She was born Oct. 19, 1910, in Pope County to Thomas and Edith (Goulet) Bouta. She grew up on the family farm near Clontarf and attended country grade school and Benson High School, graduating in 1929.

On Oct. 11, 1933, she married Martin Maher in Clontarf. They lived and farmed in Marysland Township. He died in November 1970. She moved into Benson in 1972.

She was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church, serving in mission guild, Befrienders, and Church of St. Francis Family Group. She was also a member of Danvers Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children: Patrick (and Shirley) Maher of Benson, Kathleen Siebers (and Leslie Holm) of Sartell, Marjorie (and Edward) Przybylski of Plymouth and Mary (and Bob) Schiller of St. Cloud; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Genevieve Chevalier of Murdock, Clara Brandt of Clontarf, Margaret Johnson of Benson and Tom (and Gert) Bouta of Clontarf.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and five brothers.
