Region is under winter storm warning until 9 a.m. Tuesday

WILLMAR -- The National Weather Service in Chanhassen has issued a winter storm warning for the region today and tonight for much of central Minnesota. The warning is scheduled to end at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The warning is located north of a line from near Montevideo and Faribault to Eau Claire, Wis.

Minnesota cities covered by the warning include Alexandria, Willmar, Hutchinson and St. Cloud.

The weather service says from 5 to 7 inches of snow could fall within the warning area, with higher totals of 6 to 7 occurring generally north and west of a line from Benson to Glencoe to Cambridge.
