Registration ends Wednesday for Sons of Norway workshop in Milan, Minn.
MILAN -- A workshop about the Sons of Norway will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Milan.
The annual workshop will focus on "What is in it for me? What is in it for my lodge?"
It will be led by Barbara Olson of Vining who is one of eight zone directors in District 1 and the author of the materials for the District which covers eight zones including Minnesota and all the states south including Texas, Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana.
As a zone director, she is a resource to 11 Minnesota Sons of Norway lodges from Fergus Falls in the north to Canby and Granite Falls in the south.
The workshop will show what is available to members such as the lending library of books, music, films, CDs and DVDs, the 14 cultural arts skills for beginners and advanced artisans such as rosemaling and chip carving, Norwegian foods and music, free financial analysis, travel discounts and tours.
Participants will learn how to access the organization's job descriptions, materials, program speakers and presenters.
