Renville Co., Minn., to host drainage meeting

OLIVIA -- Landowners in Renville County have the opportunity to hear about county plans for a redetermination of benefits on drainage systems at a meeting at 1 p.m. today in the lower level of the Central Office Building in Olivia.

The Renville County Board of Commissioners is looking at beginning a systematic redetermination of benefits for ditch systems in upcoming years.

Attorney Kurt Deter of St. Cloud, who specializes in drainage law, and Ron Ringquist, of the Minnesota Drainage Viewers Association, will outline how the redetermination process works.

The county is looking at launching the redetermination of benefits process this year for County Ditch 132 and two smaller systems, County Ditches 51 and 39.
