In early September 2011, Verdon left his home in Cosmos to visit an acquaintance in a neighboring town. Verdon never made it there.

The following day, the Sheriff's Office recovered Verdon's vehicle in rural Renville County, but Verdon could not be located. Verdon's family filed a missing person report in the days following his disappearance.

In October 2011, Verdon's body was found in a cornfield in Brookfield Township, southeast of Cosmos near where his car had been found.

Renville County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward to anyone with information about the circumstances surrounding Verdon's disappearance and death.

Information can be reported to the Renville County Sheriff's Office by calling (320) 523-1161; or reported anonymously by calling Renville County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-720-3780, or by clicking on the "Report A Crime" link at the Renville County Sheriff's Office web site, http://www.co.renville. mn.us/sheriff
