Renville County West building decision still to be decided

RENVILLE -- A decision on whether or not the Renville County West school district will consolidate into a K-12 campus in Renville and close its elementary school in Sacred Heart will likely be made at a special school board meeting at 8 p.m. on April 23.

"We need to decide what to do for next year,'' school board chairman Darin Bratsch said at the board's meeting Tuesday night. "Our administration is in stall mode now, waiting for us to decide what to do.''

Board members agreed a decision should be made by month's end, and set the meeting date to assure that all members could be present for it.

The board members said they also wanted to delay the decision until next week to give interested members of the public a chance to review a relatively detailed plan for that transition recently drafted by Superintendent of Schools Lance Bagstad.
