Results from State High School Swim meet

MINNEAPOLIS - Willmar senior Michael McLain finished fifth in the 200-freestyle championship heat early Saturday afternoon at the U of M Aquatics Center during the second day of the Class A Swimming and Diving meet.

McLain moved up two spots from his seed after Friday’s prelims while lowering his own school record a second day in a row to 1:45.11.

Also, early in the meet Jack Speath, Montevideo junior, won the 200-yard individual medley consolation heat in a career-best time of 2:02.16 while leading start to finish. His previous best was the first day of sections when he swam a 2:03.841.
