WILLMAR -- Reuben Donald Sjoberg, 83, of Willmar died Sunday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service.

He was born Feb. 27, 1926, in Willmar to Albert and Alma (Carlson) Sjoberg. He grew up in the Willmar area where he attended country school at Golden Rod District. He farmed on the family farm in Willmar. He entered the Army in 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1950. He returned to the Willmar area and began working for the Great Northern Railroad.

He married Ethel Gervaise Norbie on Oct. 13, 1951, in Willmar. They lived in Willmar. He retired from the railroad in 1989 after 39 years. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church; Willmar VFW Post 1639 and Spicer American Legion Post 545.

He is survived by his wife; children: Donna (and Elrey) Nielsen of Sunburg, Wayne (and Debra) Sjoberg of New London, Susan Sjoberg of Savage, Jann (and Brian) Willers of Omaha, Neb., Todd (and Cindi) Sjoberg of Sunburg; 14 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister and a stepgranddaughter.
