Rice Health Foundation to host its annual holiday benefit
Rice Memorial Hospital's Rice Health Foundation will host its annual holiday festival Friday and Saturday at the Willmar Conference Center and Holiday Inn.
Tickets are already sold out for a gala dinner, silent auction and "Black and White Ball" to be held Friday night.
Holiday table settings and vendor exhibits will be on display Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and can be purchased at the Rice Health Foundation office, the Rice Memorial Hospital gift shop or online at www.ricehealthfoundation.org.
Tickets at $15 apiece will be sold at the door for the review and for lunch. Tickets for the review alone are $5 at the door.
The money that's raised is being designated for "Saving Time and Saving Lives," an initiative by Kandiyohi County's ambulance services to provide speedier definitive treatment for heart attacks.
"We're hoping to raise as much money as we can," said Barb Abrams, chairman of the Holiday Festival. The event typically nets at least $60,000.
Volunteers and community sponsors have chipped in to provide everything from decorations to silent auction items. Among the items to be auctioned off during the gala dinner Friday night are a freezer filled with homemade food, tickets to the Orpheum Theatre's production of "Wicked" plus a hotel stay, and a holiday package that includes decorations, entertainment, home-baked sweets, custom gift wrapping and a gift basket.
