Rice Hospital nurses reach tentative contract agreement
WILLMAR — The Minnesota Nurses Association announces that nurses at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar have achieved a tentative contract agreement with hospital management.
The association said Friday that the 213-member bargaining unit is recommending ratification of the agreement.
The association said in a news release that nurses are reviewing the specifics of the offer over the coming days. The date for voting on the tentative agreement has not yet been set.
There were seven sessions of contract talks, according to the association, and six of those were conducted during blizzard conditions.
According to Tribune archives, Rice’s nurses have been working without a contract since Jan. 1. The talks had been in mediation, and a second mediation session had been scheduled for Thursday, the day the tentative agreement was struck.
