RENVILLE -- Richard L. Blankenhagen, 55, of Renville, died Monday at his home.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Renville. Burial will be at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville and for one hour prior to the services at the church.
He was born June 28, 1953, in Tracy to Darvin and Deloryia (Hult) Blankenhagen. He graduated from Renville High School in 1972 and joined the Air Force. Following his discharge, he returned to Renville and, in 1975, he began working for Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Co-operative. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, the B.C.T.G.M. Local Union 369, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.
He is survived by his daughter: Shannon (and Mike) Kluver of Hazel Run; special friend: Deb Eischens of Olivia; five grandchildren; his mother of Renville; siblings: Peggy (and Mike) Hanson of Renville, Robin (and Mike) Harvey of Des Moines, Iowa, Toni Blankenhagen of Renville, Roger Blankenhagen of Nimrod and Troy (and Jodi) Blankenhagen of Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his son: Shane; and his father.
