Saturday's game: Ridgewater (1-0) vs. Vermilion (0-1) at Ely, 3 p.m.

IRONMEN OVERVIEW: The South Division teams went 5-0 against the North; only Rochester over Northland 39-34 was close. Vermilion, 1-7 last year, lists eight starters back under first-year head coach Joe Kocera. Against Minnesota West last week the Ironmen logged 18 yards rushing and 205 passing at Worthington while allowing 318 yards. QB Keeondae Benjamin was 11 of 19 with 3 INT and a TD using four different receivers, two of them returning All-Division.

WARRIORS OVERVIEW: Second-year linebacker Mickey McQuire led the defense with 10 tackles, 6 solo. Four quarterbacks threw touchdown passes as the offense piled up 277 yards passing and 174 rushing. Martell Baker averaged 6.8 yards on 17 carries. Kevin Parks snagged 5 passes for 115 yards, scored twice on passes and once on a punt return. Sophomore wide receiver Greg McPherson, from Buffalo, had three catches for 56 yards. Following this first road trip, the Warriors are back home Sept. 14 to host Northland College at 2 p.m.
