Ridgewater Lady Warriors rout Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS -- Ridgewater nearly duplicated last month's 30-point rout of Minneapolis, drubbing the Mavericks 81-50 on Saturday in women's junior college basketball, routing the Mavericks 81-50 to avenge a 30-point loss last month.

Kari Caspers led four Lady Warriors (10-12) in double figures with 16 points. Patina Queenan notched 15 points and seven rebounds. Tara Thielke added 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. And Danielle Goeman also had 14 points.

The Lady Warriors have won three of their last four games to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Ridgewater launched 83 shots in the game, hitting 33 40 percent) and also outrebounds the Mavericks 62-35.

Briana Blackhawk led Minneapolis with 24 points and 10 rebounds while playing all 40 minutes.

Ridgewater hosts Rochester on Wednesday night in its final home game.
