WILLMAR -- Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Ridgewater rallied for three runs to stun Rochester 3-2 in the first game of a junior college softball doubleheader on Saturday.
Rochester took advantage of 11 Ridgewater errors to earn a split with a 10-7 victory in the second game.
Rochester (12-2, 21-3) entered the game as the No. 2-ranked team in the nation. Ridgewater (11-3, 15-8) split with the Yellow Jackets earlier this season in Rochester.

Down 2-0, the Lady Warriors staged a one-out rally. Steph Rhea doubled and Kim Brill reached on an error. Danyel Stoufer then drove a long double to the left-center field gap to make it 2-1. Patina Queenan then hit a grounder to second and reached on a fielder's choice as Rochester was late trying to throw out Brill at the plate. Stoufer then scored the winning run when Tara Thielke hit an infield single.
Heather Thoma earned the win, the second time she has beaten Rochester this season. The sophomore from Willmar went the distance, allowing seven hits, while walking none and striking out three.
Stoufer and Thielke had two hits each.
