Heather Thoma tossed a six-hitter in the opener with a career-high 11 strikeouts and Ashley Schmeling drove in three runs with a pair of doubles and a sacrifice fly as the Lady Warriors rallied from a 2-1 deficit with two runs in the fifth and six more in the sixth.

In the nightcap, the Lady Warriors fell behind 3-0 and 4-3 before a four-run sixth gave them the lead for good, Fergus Falls scored twice in the top of the seventh, but was unable to push the tying run across.

"We still have some things to work on," said Ridgewater coach Todd Thorstad. "The biggest thing I liked was the way we battled back in each game and kept our composure."

It was only the second time Ridgewater had been on the field this spring and the first for Fergus Falls.

Game One

Ridgewater 9, Fergus Falls 2

Down 2-1, Ridgewater rallied when Heather Thoma singled and Danyel Stouffer walked. Both moved up on a wild pitch and Patina Queenan's sacrifice fly scored Thoma with the tying run. Ashley Schmeling then plated the go-ahead run with a long double to center field.

Tara Thielke's two-run single highlighted the six-run sixth inning. Fergus Falls committed three errors in the inning.

Both runs scored off Thoma were unearned. She worked out of a seventh-inning jam with runners on second and third and no outs. She struck out the next two hitters and then got the final out on a grounder to second.

Schmeling, Queenan and Thoma had two hits each.
