Ridgewater wins slugfest
WILLMAR -- A seven- run second-inning propelled the Ridgewater College baseball team to an 11-9 win over the Northwestern College JV on Monday at Bill Taunton Stadium.
Four hits and four walks fueled the Warriors' big inning.
Luke Frauendiest doubled and singled to plate three runs in a 10-hit attack for Ridgewater.
Mitch Allore went the final 5Zc innings for the win. He scattered eight hits and gave up three runs, while walking four and striking out four. Adam Marynik hurled the first 32/3 innings and gave up four hits and six runs (none earned). He walked six and struck out six.
Ridgewater committed five errors.
The games were originally scheduled for a doubleheader, but were switched to a single game at Northwestern College's request.
The Warriors play a twinbill today against St. Cloud Technical College starting at 1 p.m. at Bill Taunton Stadium.
