Ridgewater's Hall first at Augsburg Open; Warriors win 31 of 50 matches overall
MINNEAPOLS -- Jarrett Hall of Ridgewater College went 4-0 to win the 165-pound Gold Division at the Augsburg Invitational on Saturday.
Hall, a redshirt sophomore from Greenbush, wrestled against varsity competition from 11 four-year school and three junior colleges.
"That's pretty impressive to win in the Gold against some quality schools, including Augsburg," said Warriors coach Jesse Nelson. "We had five others place in Gold, so it was a pretty good day."
Jimmy Marx, Greg Skerik and Justin Turek were each 3-1 in Gold, Cody Pahan 2-1 and Ben Thonvold 2-2. Jason Schuller was 157-pound runner-up in Silver.
Overall, Warriors were 31-19.
Ridgewater opens its dual meet and MCCC schedule at home Tuesday by hosting Itasca College.
