Ridgewater's Patnode, Molacek third at Open wrestling meet

WORTHINGTON -- Jake Patnode, Trent Molacek and Cody Kinney each had big days at the huge Minnesota West Open college wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Patnode was third with a 4-1 record at 133 pounds. Molacek took third in the 20-man 165-pound bracket with a 5-1 record. Kinney went 5-1 for fifth at heavyweight, also a 20-wrestler bracket.

In all, 180 wrestlers competed, which would be an average of 18 per bracket.
