Rita M. (Gottwald) Lenzmeier age 89, of Paynesville, died on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Koronis Manor in Paynesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, June 16, 2014, at St. Margarets Catholic Church in Lake Henry. Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Willmar. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Services are entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville .

Rita Marie Gottwald Lenzmeier was born on December 19, 1924, in Albany, the daughter of Henry and Stella (Keppers) Ludwig. She was baptized and confirmed at Seven Dolors Catholic Church. She grew up in Albany and attended Seven Dolors Catholic School. On May 13, 1947, Rita was united in marriage to Albert Gottwald. To this union three daughters and three sons were born. They made their home in Lake Henry where they farmed and Rita raised her family. In 1971 they moved to Willmar where she worked for the Willmar Nursing Home. Rita and Albert were able to share in 42 years of marriage before his death on April 8, 1990. Rita was united in marriage to Earl Lenzmeier in May of 1991. They enjoyed retirement together and five years of marriage before his death in 1996. Rita moved to Paynesville in 2002, where she was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and member of Christian Mothers.

Rita died on June 12, 2014, at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville at the age of 89. She is survived by six children, Stella (Paul) Nelson of Woodbury, Stephen (Judy) Gottwald of Paynesville, Susan (Duane) Buermann of Paynesville, Stanley Gottwald of New London, Samuel (Tammy) Gottwald of Pennock and Sara (Danton) Forrest of Duluth; twelve grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Theresa Evens, Mary (Ron) Sadlowsky, and Daniel (Mary) Ludwig.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; Margaret (Leonard) Hansen, Lucy (Fendell) Carlson, Vincent Ludwig, Francis Ludwig, George Ludwig, John Ludwig; and two great grandchildren.
