Road construction begins Tuesday through downtown New London

WILLMAR -- A major road construction project begins Tuesday on New London's Main Street.

Detours will be in place for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed in early November.

The project includes resurfacing, installing accessible pedestrian ramps and replacing sidewalks on state Highway 9, also known as Main Street, in New London.

The detour begins from Highway 23 to First Avenue North.

Northbound traffic on Highway 9 will be detoured east on Kandiyohi County 40, north on Kandiyohi County 9 and west on Second Avenue North.

Motorists traveling south on Highway 9 will be diverted through the project on Highway 9.

Duininck, Inc. of Prinsburg was awarded the $456,000 project.
