Robert "Bob" Terhell, age 88 of Willmar died on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at GlenOaks Care Center in New London. Memorial service will be Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Robert Charles Terhell was born on January 3, 1926 in Seaforth, Minnesota, the son of Herbert and Carolyn (Henkel) Terhell. He grew up in the Redwood Falls area where he attended school. He helped his family on the farm and worked at a tractor business. He enlisted in the United States Army serving during WWII. He received an Honorable Discharge in November of 1946.

Robert was united in marriage to Carol Rakke on January 24, 1953 in Minneapolis. The couple resided in Minneapolis, Vesta and moved to the Willmar area in 1960. Robert was a salesman and owned and operated various businesses in Willmar including: a car wash, Spur and Texaco gas stations, and a used car lot. He always continued to buy and sell used cars until his health declined. Carol passed away in November of 2007. Bob continued to live in Willmar.

Bob was an excellent salesman, his family recalls how he loved to wheel and deal and he was very good at it. He enjoyed fishing and taking car trips. He also enjoyed listening to country music; he and Carol loved to go out dancing.

Robert is survived by his daughters Nancy (and Dennis) Thompson of Nevada, Iowa, and Roberta "Bobbi" Erlick of Willmar; two grandchildren Bo Thompson and Tracy Thompson; two great-grandchildren Libby and Donavon; two sisters, Doris and Dorothy.

In addition to his wife, Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gladys Lange.
