Robert C. "Bob" Holt, 84, of Willmar, passed away on Monday, August 4th at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. His funeral service will be at 11 am Friday at Svea Lutheran Church, in Svea. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Thursday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home, in Willmar and continue one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at the church cemetery. www.hafh.org

Robert (Bob) Charles Holt was born on April 24, 1930 in Willmar, Minnesota. His parents were Manley B. Holt and Alice (Johnson) Holt. He went to Garfield Elementary and Willmar High School graduating in 1948. He was baptized at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar on August 10, 1930 and confirmed also at Calvary Lutheran Church on May 20, 1945.

Bob lived in Willmar until 1946 when he moved to the farm with his parents, south of Willmar in Whitefield Township. As a youth, Bob was involved in the CB's 4-H Club as a member and leader, Svea Young Adults Group, and Rural Youth. He was also a Svea Stars 4-H Club leader and was on the County 4-H Leadership Council.

Bob married Ina Lucile Siegel at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota on October 5, 1957 and lived on the family farm. They were blessed with two children, Linda Sue and Thomas John. Bob and Ina ran the family farm growing corn, soybeans, alfalfa and oats. In 1964 Bob took over the family pie bakery, "Manley's Bake Shop" which his parents had started. Bob and Ina ran the bakery until 1974. During this time he also milked cows and raised livestock. After closing the bakery, he worked at Norling Silo Company in the building division for five years.

Bob enjoyed being in the church choir and barbershop chorus. He served on the Svea church council and was a member of the Svea Men's Brotherhood group. After retiring, he enjoyed taking care of his horses, his large vegetable and flower gardens, especially his rose garden. One of his favorite things to do was to give roses to all the ladies at church on Sunday mornings.

Surviving family members include his wife, Ina of 56 years; daughter, Linda and Jeffrey Lopez of Raymond; son, Tom and Betty Holt of Willmar. Granddaughters Stephanie Rucker; Elizabeth Holt and friend, Aaron; Kaitlyn Waldroff and fianc Martin. Two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Jayne. Brother-in-law, Russell and Berniece Siegel, along with other cousins and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, John.

Memorials are preferred to Svea Lutheran Church
