Robert M. Bloom Feb. 9, 1924 - May 23, 2009
WILLMAR -- Robert Manley Bloom, 85, of Willmar died Saturday, at his home.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on today at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Willmar to Leon and Elvira (Nelson) Bloom. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received an honorable discharge in 1945.
He married Dorothy Card on July 2, 1945, in Willmar. They lived in Willmar. He worked as a conductor for Great Northern Railroad.
He was a member of the Willmar Masonic Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2334.
He is survived by his wife; son: Jeff (and Marian) Bloom of Willmar; two grandchildren; and a brother: Jack Bloom of Bend, Ore.
He was preceded in death by two sons: Doug and Lee; and one granddaughter.
