Robert Regnier June 27, 1924 - Sept. 30, 2009
REDWOOD FALLS -- Robert LeRoy "Bob" Regnier, 85, of Redwood Falls died Wednesday at Seasons in Redwood Falls.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. before the service at the church. Arrangements are with Nelson-Martin Funeral Service of Redwood Falls.
He was born June 27, 1924, in Slayton to Robert and Marie (Sieve) Regnier. He grew up in Redwood Falls, graduating from Redwood Falls High School in 1942. He was inducted into the Army in 1943 and served in the World War II European Theater at Normandy, in Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon with a Silver Star. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Redwood Falls. He attended Dunwoody Technical Institute, graduating in 1947.
He married Eunice Steen on Jan. 7, 1950, in Ortonville. They lived in Redwood Falls. He worked as an electrician for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, the V.F.W., the American Legion and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He is survived by his wife; children: Patricia Moritz (special friend David Scheitel) of Redwood Falls, Greg (and Jan) Regnier of Portland, Ore., and Randy (and Mary) Regnier of Maynard; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a brother: Gordon (and Lois) Regnier of Montevideo.
He was preceded in death by his son: Daniel.
