Robert Rodeberg Sept. 26, 1926 - Dec. 12, 2008
MONTEVIDEO -- Robert Harold Rodeberg, 82, of Montevideo died Friday at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Saron Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be this afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
He was born Sept. 26, 1926, in Montevideo to Harry and Mabel (Wig) Rodeberg. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1944.
On March 16, 1947, he married Harriet Olson in Hazel Run. They farmed in Leenthrop Township, Chippewa County, for many years before moving into Montevideo in 1995. He was a lifelong member of Saron Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He was a director of MinnWest Bank and a founding director of the Southern Minnesota Beet Co-op. He served as president of Chippewa County Cattlemen's Association. He was an advisory board member of the 4-H and served as a 4-H leader.
He is survived by his wife; five children: Sherry (and Jerry) Johnson of Woodbury, Steven (and Marilyn) Rodeberg of Montevideo, Mary Squiers of Chaska, Marc (and Lynn) Rodeberg and Randy (and Betty) Rodeberg, all of Montevideo; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers: Dick (and Carole) Rodeberg and Dean Rodeberg, all of Montevideo.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
