Robert S. Imdieke Dec. 25, 1920 - Aug. 28, 2009
ELROSA -- Robert Sylvester Imdieke, 88, of Elrosa, died Friday St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.
The service will be at 11 a.m. today at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade.
He was born Dec. 25, 1920, in Bluffton, to Herman and Gertrude (Breitbach) Imdieke. He grew up on the family farm in Bluffton until the age of 13 when the family moved to a farm near Elrosa. He attended Belgrade High School, graduating in 1940. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota Ag School in St. Paul.
On Oct. 10, 1944, he married Mary Ann Braun. They lived on the family farm near Elrosa where he farmed and milked registered Holsteins.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, sang in the choir for more than 60 years and was a charter member of the building committee of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School. He was on the board of directors of the REA from 1978 to 1984.
He is survived by his wife; children: Mary Ellen Imdieke, Bonnie (and Tom) Malterer, Norie (and Gary) Mohs, Geri (and Hal Roadman), Amy Imdieke, Bob (and Pam), Rick (and Shelley), Roger (and Judy), Rollie (and Kim), Tom and Todd (and Julie); daughters-in-law: Pam and Sally; 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons: Ron and Tim; twin sons in infancy; three brothers; and four sisters.
