Rollover accident leaves two in hospital
FAHLUN TOWNSHIP -- An 18-year-old Texas woman was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis with head injuries Saturday, following a one-vehicle rollover southeast of Willmar in Fahlun Township.
Sasha Delagarza, 18, of Uvalde, Texas, was in serious condition Sunday evening, according to a Hennepin County Medical Center spokeswoman.
According to a report from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, the 1996 Ford Explorer driven by Travis Berends, 18, of Atwater was northbound on County Road 3 when it left the road and rolled multiple times. The rollover occurred about one-half mile north of 97th Avenue Southeast.
Berends and his three passengers, including Delagarza, were taken to Ride Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
On Sunday evening, Cody Ledeboer, 19, of Willmar was still a patient at Rice and was in fair condition. Berends and John Springer, 20, of Kandiyohi had been discharged from the hospital, according to a nursing supervisor.
Assisting the Sheriff's Office at the scene were the Minnesota State Patrol, Willmar Ambulance, Kandiyohi County Rescue, Blomkest First Responders, Lake Lillian Ambulance, Kandiyohi Fire Department and North Air Care.
