MADISON -- Ronald Eugene Dallman, 82, of LaCrosse, Wis., formerly of Madison, died Wednesday in LaCrosse.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Faith Lutheran Church of Madison. Burial will be in Hamlin Cemetery in rural Madison.

Arrangements are by Zahrbock Funeral Chapel of Madison.

He was born June 1, 1926, in Lake Shore Township, Lac qui Parle County, to Marie Dallman. He attended country school at Districts 64 and 70 and then began farming with his family. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953, receiving the National Defense Service Medal.

He married Genevieve Buchmann on Nov. 15, 1952, in Philadelphia. They returned to Madison and continued farming. Genevieve died.

He married Delores Halvorson on Sept. 24, 1971, in Madison. They farmed until retirement in 1998. They moved into Madison in 2004 and this past year they had moved to LaCrosse, Wis.

He is survived by his wife; eight children: Addie (and John) Cremer of LaCresent, Shirley (and Roger) Sersch of Nekoosa, Wis., Mary Ann (and Mike) Ellestad of Amherst, Neb., Carrie (and Bob) Boekhoff of Eagan, Gail (and Ritchie) Smith of Madison, Gary (and Dory) Dallman of Revillo, S.D., Roger Dallman of Rapid City, SD, and Jill (and Bob) McCauley of Savage; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and by three great-grandchildren.
