Roschild appears in court on smash-grab jewelry burglary
WILLMAR -- Allison Ann Roschild, 18, of Renville, made her first court appearance Wednesday on a third-degree burglary charge, plus a gross misdemeanor property damage count, for her role in smashing into and robbing a downtown Willmar jewelry store.
Unconditional bail was set at $20,000. Her next appearance is March 12 in Kandiyohi County District Court.
Roschild and Marcos Enrique Trevino Jr., 21, of Willmar, were both charged with the Nov. 5 crime. Trevino pleaded guilty Tuesday to the burglary charge and will be sentenced April 30.
According to an affidavit of restitution filed in the case, $2,500 in jewelry was stolen from Setterberg Jewelry and the defendants caused $618.32 in damage to the business.
The local job was the last in a string of three jewelry store burglaries Nov. 5 in Granite Falls, Sacred Heart and Willmar.
Roschild was sentenced Friday to one year and one day in prison, which was stayed, five years of probation, 153 days in jail and a $300 fine on a felony burglary charge for robbing Korthuis Jewelry in downtown Granite Falls. She was ordered to pay $13,456.65 in restitution, ordered not to enter either of the Korthuis stores in Granite Falls and Montevideo, ordered not to use drugs or alcohol and she must follow the recommendations of a chemical use assessment.
Roschild was also sentenced Feb. 17 to five years of probation, 95 days in jail and 100 hours of community service for burglarizing Probst Jewelry in Sacred Heart.
Trevino was sentenced Jan. 24 to five years of probation, 106 days in jail and $600 in fines in the Yellow Medicine and Renville County cases against him. He was also ordered to pay restitution in both cases.
